Man :  Your presentation is important to making a good impression.

 

Woman : Right. The president will be there today.

 

Man :  I hope you do a good job.

 

Woman : Do you have any advice for me?

 

Man : It's recommended that you not get nervous.

 

Woman : Yeah, that would cause lots of problems for me.

 

 

 

make a good impression  좋은 인상을 주다.

The president will be there today.  오늘 사장님도 오신다.

do a good job  잘하다.

Do you have any advice for me?   나에게 조언해 줄 것 없니?

It's recommended that  ~  을 권장한다.

 

 

 

 

 

1. 일주일에 여러차례 운동하기를 권장한다.

It's recommended that people exercise several times a week.

 

2. 사탕을 너무 많이 먹지 말 것을 권합니다.

It's recommended that you avoid eating too much candy.

 

3.  우리가 일찍 오는 게 좋습니다.

It's recommended that we come early.

 

 

 

recommend나 suggest 와 같은 동사 뒤에 오는 that 절은 주어 다음에 꼭

should를 쓰게 되어 있습니다.  그런데 그 should가 생략될 수도 있다는 거죠.

그래서 예를 들어 보면

It's recommended that the back be supported. ( 등을 대고 자는 게 좋대.) 에서 the back 다음에 is가 아닌 be가 왔습니다. should가 생략되었죠.  should라는 조동사 다음에는 항상 동사의 원형이 와야 하기 때문이에요.  be동사는 인칭에 따라 변하는데요...... 동사의 원형이 be이죠.
